Cardiff Festival is funded, staged and managed by Cardiff Council. Once again the programme has been enhanced through the support of the commercial sponsors and partners enabling access to free and low cost entertainment for all sectors of the community to the majority of the events.
Winter Wonderland
bmibaby Cardiff Winter Wonderland has truly established itself as the 'must do' festive attraction in the city centre, and since it first opened in 2001 over a million people have visited the site with over 300,000 taking to the ice. Whether you're an able skater or an absolute beginner the bmibaby open-air ice rink is Cardiff's essential winter experience.
Whilst the rink remains the focus for skaters and spectators, there are also lots of other attractions around the arena including the ice café bar for all the family, the free heated terrace overlooking the ice, traditional children's carousel and rides, Big Wheel, and free entertainment all wrapped in a great festive atmosphere.
bmibaby Cardiff Winter Wonderland is one of the highlights of Christmas in Cardiff, which also includes the Christmas Lights switch on, Cardiff's Calennig New Year's Eve celebrations with free live music stage, the Admiral family fireshow, and free late buses, fabulous Christmas shopping opportunities with extra Park & Ride facilities and much more.
bmibaby Cardiff Winter Wonderland returns this year on November 15 and runs until January 6 2008.
